Android at MWC 2024
BRANDFUEL
This project has a rapid install time of 48hrs and a dismantle time of only 7 hours so we require the planning to be incredibly detailed which Stage One excels at.TOM ROBINSON

The Foundation
Each island was created with a 100mm high platform composed of a combination of steel and timber framework; the steel sections providing the foundation for each structure. Cladded with plywood the islands were alternately colour coded to enhance their differentiation.
The structures
Android Bot
Customise your own Android Bot reused the bot we manufactured for last year’s display. Machined polystyrene was secured to a steel skeleton, chicken wire applied to the surface to accommodate the floral decoration. The eyes had been 3D printed in our facilities.
Foldables
The Foldables display was characterised by curved edges, the tablet devices represented by a large-scale replica. Steel framework was clad with plywood, bendy ply used to create the radiused corners and an additional curved aluminium section was located at the fold of the device. 200mm deep, and with steel tubing as the backbone of the structure, pixel tiles were stacked and secured in place to create the device screen.
Information
Information was a new build, fabricated in our metal shop. A two-tier structure was created by adding columns and a floating roof to house the display screen on the upper level. The base structure was loaded as a complete piece, the columns fitted on site and the roof lifted into place by crane. A walkthrough tunnel was built into the base structure and fitted with LED lighting for illumination.
Gemini
Gemini reused two previous structures. Extended vertically with a geometric roofing design, the frame was fabricated in our metal shop with glazing applied to the polycarbonate panels by a third party. PSE (planed square edge timber) slatted walls provided infill between the two structures, all connected to the steel framework in the flooring to secure the structure against the wind tunnel affect created by its design.
Bot Holograms
The exterior of the bot hologram structure featured a lenticular display, composed of triangular MDF modules fitted against the wall and graphics applied to each visible fascia, creating the illusion that the graphic changes as the visitors viewing perspective changes.
