The McLaren zone housed a Formula 1 race car that was delicately manoeuvred onto the display. We customised a Space Cube with additional columns and roofing to extend its footprint and custom-built a security system to protect this precious cargo. We fabricated bespoke steel crash barriers that enhanced the racing environment aesthetic.

Foldables offered an array of folding devices for visitors to interact with. Characterised by curves, this display included slatted plywood panels that represented the corresponding models of mobile phone available inside.

For Circle to Search with Google we manufactured and fitted large-scale phone models to the exterior of the structure, and a prefabricated bubble backlit with LED lighting highlighted the concept. The plywood walls of the interior were cut on our 3-axis CNC machine to accommodate the subtle LED lighting detail inside.

Display plinths, as seen on Customise your own Android Bot and Android Auto, housed TV screens. Formed with a steel fabricated frame, bolted to the steel framework in the flooring for security, the frame was clad with plywood, slatted detail to the fascia concealing access panels into the plinth.

The largest of the exhibits, Gemini, reused two structures from the previous year, extended with slatted infill wall panels that connected them. Inside featured a circular counter approx. 3 meter in diameter and a number of display plinths of variable size and design.

The brick detailing visible on the exterior of the structures was created on our CNC machines and painted to enhance the effect.
