Working with event producers Done + Dusted for one of the most watched esports events in the world, Stage One was commissioned to deliver a huge reveal moment for the opening ceremony for the League of Legends World Championship Grand Final 2024, hosted by Riot Games.

We manufactured the grand final stage, incorporating automated trap doors and lift platform for American band Linkin Park to rise from beneath to perform the tournament’s anthem ‘Heavy is the Crown’.

The stage was test built in our yard. Cues were pre-programmed and tested, and load testing undertaken to ensure stability. During test build our team identified a potential safety risk to crew and performers understage, rectified with the addition of doors and a fortress lock to prevent access when in motion.

Limited to a 24-hour window for this large-scale installation, efficiency was critical. Once built we clad the inside walls with matt black 6mm ply, the exposed edges edge-banded, 19mm high gloss, black, pre-laminated finish.
