Closing the Loop: Reducing our Carbon Footprint

Article
12 Mar 2020

In a continued effort to reduce our carbon footprint, we are delighted to announce that we are closing the loop on our use of Plastics – commonly used for packaging and wrapping. We have found several alternatives to the non-recyclable material such as increasing the use of cardboard when packaging projects and increasing our dry-mixed recycling. The polythene we now use to protect our products is made from recycled plastic, and when we are finished with it, can be placed in our dry mix recycling bins to be recycled again, effectively closing the loop on plastic production.

As part of ongoing efforts to improve our environmental impact, we recently passed our ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems audit, this certificate represents our on-going commitment to improving our overall sustainability.

By the end of 2020, we will only use recycled and recyclable products in our operations and logistics departments. We also are in the enviable position to know that our waste collection supplier no longer sends our waste to landfill. They recycle our waste or convert it into energy. All of which is great for us and even better for the environment!
