In light of the much-awaited recent government announcement that limits will be placed on single use plastics from April 2020, Stage One are pleased to announce that we’re doing our bit for the environment and have passed our BSI audit!
The ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems certificate represents our on-going commitment to improving our overall sustainability. Whilst the BSI review our practices on a biannual basis, 2019 marks three years since original certification and so the audit this time was far more stringent. The review emphasised how we successfully continue to support our core principles and values, adhering to strict recycling procedures, procuring materials locally wherever we can and responsibly disposing of waste. We continue to work with suppliers to reuse previously wasted materials wherever possible.
The audit also highlighted areas where we can improve further, confirming the importance of working with the BSI and improving our practices. Our Compliance Manager Kathy Pyne describes the audit as having ‘widened our knowledge of the environment’, providing an opportunity to assess how to most effectively reduce the impact of our day-to-day practices.
