Stage One was commissioned to deliver nine structures to showcase Android’s innovative AI at Mobile Congress World 2024. This was to be our sixth year in Barcelona with Brandfuel.

This year Android Avenue was designed as a series of islands, self-contained demonstrations of new technologies including Customise your own Android Bot, McLaren, Foldables, Better Together, Information, Circle to Search with Google, Android Auto, Gemini, and the Android Bot holograms.

Sustainability comes as standard these days and is now built-in to the scheme design. Where possible, structures were reused from previous years. Of the nine structures we fabricated only two new builds this year, again with the intention of re-use at future events. Dividing the design into islands reduced material requirements and reduced the need for connective flooring between each display.

Having delivered five previous projects on Android Avenue we are accustomed to the scale of this project. The tight build programme means meticulous project planning and on-site organisation. We operate 24-hour working during installation, dividing our team into day and night shifts and where possible assigning staff that have been involved in the project previously as experience streamlines the process. Combined with excellent working relationships with our client, these factors make for a successful delivery.

We test-built the structures in our facilities in Tockwith in the UK, and for the first time this included all structures. Near completion we hosted our client, Brandfuel, and their guests, Google, to review the exhibits prior to loading. This allowed for any final tweaks to be made in our hangars, ensuring the time on site was dedicated to installation and finishing touches.
