Having bought a real jeep from a scrapyard, we set about removing as much weight as possible in order to create this silent, automated prop. The pared down jeep was then connected to a motorized carriage with a purpose built control system. A toothed belt was used to pull the jeep up and down a guide track recessed into specially built staging units.
The system worked silently and reliably from the beginning of rehearsals to the final performance.
