The refurbishment of Karl Lagerfeld’s flagship store on Regent Street, London, saw the debut of its Future Legacy concept; a futuristic scheme characterised by monochromatic design and high-tech interactions.

One example of these features was designed, engineered and manufactured by Stage One. The scheme takes the form of a paternoster lift that circulates a display of accessories between the two floors of the store. Its clean lines, gliding movement, and brushed steel finish that co-ordinates with the stores FF&E, are congruent with the minimalistic aesthetic.

The brief was similarly minimal, an outline sketch of the desired shape, and that it needed to be sleek, quiet, and straightforward to operate. Additionally, it had to be safe for a live retail environment and had to fit within the centre of the stairwell. The detail was left to our team.

From design to install, this development took eight months. We’ve implemented an annual service plan to maintain safe and efficient operation. Read our case study to find out more.
