Commissioned to commemorate the opening of the LG Arena in 2009, this 80kg sculpture took six weeks to make before being installed, suspended 3m above the public.
The giant ethereal head was produced using a combination of our latest in-house CNC facilities and traditional scenic art skills.
An aluminium frame and lengths of aluminium mesh were bent around the contours of the CNC’d polystyrene master, leaving ghostly impressions of eyes, nose and mouth. Once the master was removed, the head was sprayed grey in order to work better with lighting effects.
