We worked from the client’s model to design and fabricate the framework for this unusual modular steel set. Produced in association with Ramps on the Moon, this production of The Government Inspector required a flexible set for touring. It was important that the set was provided as a ‘kit of parts’, enabling it to be easily reconfigured according to the space available in each theatre and that various parts of the stage and set would be accessible to wheelchair users.

Our fabrication facilities were put to good use making the series of stylised steel frames that comprised all three levels of the set. The steelwork was primed with a coloured base coat as specified by the client. Revolving doors were located in the centre and a fully functioning elevator on stage left. Access was provided to all levels, as well as over the top of the rotating doors.
