Manoeuvrability within a tight space was a key principle of this bespoke yet mobile scissor lift. The 6m by 3m hydraulic lift has to accommodate various food vending vehicles, rotating and raising each 5.5m to the access door, yet importantly, manoeuvring around the street furniture and planting below.
Once parked, the lift bed rotates by 10° in order to achieve the correct angle to winch the vending vehicles up the drawbridge style ramp before lifting them to first floor level. The lift then rotates through 90°, to allow the vehicle to fit through the 3.4m wide door. All operations –rotating, winching and lifting – were controlled from a touch screen within a mobile console desk.
