Earlier this month we were delighted to return to the Serpentine Pavilion to host an evening with colleagues and friends.
The Pavilion is a landmark in the Stage One calendar. A complex project we have only weeks to build, we’re thankful to the team that make it happen. We have delivered the Serpentine Series of Pavilions for the last fifteen years; it is an enchanting commission, and each scheme brings its own character and challenges. Everyone has their favourite, which makes for interesting debate as to the reasons why.
The 2024 Pavilion was designed by Seoul-based Korean architect Minsuk Cho and his studio Mass Studies. Titled the Archipelagic Void, five ‘islands’ converge to create a central open space, the void a representation of a madang, a small courtyard found in old Korean houses.
These five individual structures in an open plan formation invite visitors to explore within and in between, and it was a pleasure to watch our guests venture through with intrigue as its design intended.
Occasions such as this are a rare opportunity to engage with our industry peers outside of projects. An even rarer moment to enjoy a scheme after its completion.
We thank everyone that joined us on the day, it was a pleasure to see you there.
